Covered Bridge Realty is a busy office with several realtors, primarily doing business in Madison County, Iowa. Their previous website was hard to keep updated due to the rapidly changing information in their business.

In order to keep their listings fresh and up-to-date, their new website uses a third party application called iHomefinder integrated with a WordPress website. New listings feed into the site as they are entered to the MLS through the Des Moines Area Association of Realtors. Listings also fall off when sold, as well as indicating price declines and open houses, etc. Visitors can create an account to “favorite” properties for future visits.

Real estate websites have highly technical needs. Making sure that current listings and their frequent changes are pulled in automatically involves integrating the software with the IDX provider (in this case, the IDX provider is DMAAR). Real estate agents have enough to do without figuring out how this works!

I partnered with Homefront Real Estate to provide ongoing website maintenance and technical support while they do what they do best — sell houses.

The John Wayne Birthplace & Museum website is viewed by thousands of fans each year. A store has been embedded in this site to sell merchandise from the museum’s gift shop. Annually in the spring, the website promotes the John Wayne Birthday Celebration held in Winterset, Iowa, the Duke’s hometown. New items are easily added to the store, or deletions made, upon request.
