Julie Feirer & Winterset Websites

A Few Details

  • My family has deep roots in the Winterset/Madison County area. I grew up and graduated from high school there.
  • I come from a family of small business owners. My grandparents owned Trask Jewelry, and my parents owned the Ben Franklin store (for 44 years!), both on the Winterset square.
  • I have a BA in English from the University of Iowa, and an MA in Education with endorsements in secondary reading and language arts (7-12th grade). I taught for eight years. I also spent some time in marketing for a mortgage bank and two foodservice distributors.
  • I started Winterset Websites as a full-time agency in 2013, based in my Winterset home office.
  • I still work from home, which is now at 201 Grand in Des Moines. I also have work and meeting space at Gravitate.
  • My husband is Alan Feirer, and his business is Group Dynamic. Winterset Websites and Group Dynamic are incorporated under the umbrella of Feirer Enterprises, Inc.
  • I am insured.
  • One thing that sets me apart is responsiveness. I’m known by my clients to be quick to return calls and emails, as well as making requested website updates. I’ve inherited several clients from larger, well-known Des Moines based agencies for this reason.
  • Alan and I love to travel and spend time with our daughter, Mara. I also love to hike, read, listen to podcasts, and drink a lot of coffee.
  • Even though I’m now based in Des Moines, I’ll always be a Winterset citizen at heart. I currently serve as secretary of the Greater Madison County Community Foundation and assist with the annual Covered Bridge Festival. I was honored to be awarded as the 2015 Business Person of the Year by the Madison County Chamber of Commerce.
  • One thing I love about about Des Moines is meeting new people, and I’d love to meet you!
